Privacy Policy

Legal entity. The name of the series established by this Addendum shall be Knox Holdings LLC - Series A (operating internally and externally under the designated name “Knox Studios”). This policy describes our practices under that operating name.

Information collection — summary. Knox Studios apps vary. Where a Service offers sign-in, we may collect the email address you provide through Google Firebase Authentication. Some apps have no cloud accounts. Separately, ad-supported apps may show ads through Google AdMob; Google may process advertising identifiers, IP address, and device or request data to serve those ads. Knox Studios does not operate an advertising profile database or store that AdMob request data on studio systems. For the short standalone statement, see our Data collection disclaimer.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to mobile apps, web apps, and websites operated under the Knox Studios name that link to this policy (the “Services”). It does not apply to third-party sites or services we do not control, including Google’s advertising systems, except to describe how they may process data when you use ad-supported Services.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information (Firebase Authentication)

Where a Service offers sign-in, we may use Firebase Authentication to create and secure your account. This typically involves processing the email address you submit for registration or sign-in. Firebase may also process technical data related to authentication (for example, security tokens, device identifiers used for fraud prevention) as described in Google’s documentation.

Not every Knox Studios app offers accounts. Apps without sign-in do not collect email through Firebase for that purpose.

2.2 Advertising (Google AdMob)

Some Services are ad-supported and use Google AdMob to display ads (for example, banner and/or rewarded ads where configured). When ads are requested or shown, Google may process data such as:

Advertising identifiers (for example, Google Advertising ID or similar platform identifiers);
IP address and approximate location derived from network information;
Device, app, and ad-request technical information (for example, device type, OS version, app version, and ad interaction events).

Knox Studios integrates AdMob so ads can be shown; we do not collect that AdMob advertising data into studio-operated databases or build advertising profiles ourselves. Google processes AdMob data under Google’s terms and privacy documentation. Personalized ads may be available unless you choose non-personalized ads (NPA) or disable advertising where the app provides those controls (see Section 9).

2.3 Information we do not intentionally collect

Apart from account authentication (where offered) and AdMob processing described above, we do not intentionally collect precise geolocation, contacts from your device, photos, microphone audio, or health data through our apps for studio-side profiling or analytics. If a future product changes collection practices, we will update this policy and, where required, provide additional notice or consent mechanisms.

2.4 Website and communications

If you email us or use a contact form on our website, we receive the information you send (such as your name, email address, and message content) to respond to you.

Our website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless beacon that provides aggregate measures such as visits, page paths, referrers, and performance metrics. It is not used to build advertising profiles or to track you across other websites. Website analytics are separate from in-app AdMob ads.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

Provide, maintain, and secure the Services;
Create and authenticate accounts where offered;
Enable advertising in ad-supported apps through Google AdMob (served by Google);
Communicate with you about the Services or your requests;
Comply with law and enforce our terms.

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)

If applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract (providing the Services), legitimate interests (security and improvement, balanced against your rights), or consent where required. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, see our GDPR information for additional detail on legal bases and your rights. Some store listings may exclude certain regions; this policy still describes processing that can occur when you use the Services.

5. Sharing of information

We share information with:

Google Firebase / Google Cloud, as necessary to operate authentication and hosting configured for the Services;
Google AdMob / Google advertising services, as necessary to request and display ads in ad-supported apps;
Cloudflare, as necessary to operate privacy-oriented website analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) on knoxstudios.net;
Professional advisors (for example, attorneys or accountants) where confidential;
Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Knox Studios does not sell your personal information for money. In ad-supported apps, Google may use advertising-related data to serve personalized ads unless you opt for non-personalized ads or turn advertising off where in-app controls are provided. Under some U.S. state privacy laws, allowing personalized advertising through Google can be treated as “sharing” or a similar concept for cross-context behavioral advertising, even when Knox Studios does not store ad profiles. You can limit personalized ads as described in Section 9.

6. Retention

We retain account-related information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backup, security, and legal compliance. You may request deletion as described below. AdMob advertising data is processed by Google according to Google’s retention practices; Knox Studios does not retain that AdMob request data on studio systems.

7. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Children’s privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise rights, contact us using the details below. You may also adjust or revoke Firebase-linked credentials through your Google account settings where applicable.

In ad-supported apps that provide Privacy or similar settings, you may find controls such as:

Advertising — turn ads on or off where the app offers an advertising toggle;
Personalized ads — choose personalized or non-personalized ads (NPA) where the app offers that control.

You can also use Google’s advertising and privacy tools and your device settings (for example, reset or limit the advertising ID on Android or iOS). Review Google’s materials linked below for how Google uses data in ads.

10. International transfers

Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers (including Google) operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes

We may update this policy by posting a new version and updating the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated through the Services or other reasonable means.
